Vaccination

Essential Vaccinations

DOGS CATS RABIES VACCINATION
  • By law, all dogs above 5 months of age must be vaccinated against rabies and licensed with the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD).
  • Dogs above the age of 12 weeks/3 months can be vaccinated against rabies.
  • The dog license must be renewed and the vaccination must be repeated every 3 years.
  • Cats can also be vaccinated against rabies.

DOGS DHPPiL VACCINATION (Distemper, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Hepatitis)

Of the above diseases, Canine Distemper, Parvovirus and Leptospirosis are of particular concern.

Canine Distemper and Parvovirus are especially common in pet shop puppies.

Leptospirosis has been contracted by dogs after visiting the Peak and country parks in Hong Kong.

CATS FVRCP VACCINATION (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus and Panleukopenia)

This combination vaccine protects cats, in particular young kittens, against these highly contagious and often fatal diseases. In particular, upper respiratory tract viruses, such as Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Calicivirus, collectively known as "Cat Flu", kill many kittens ever year.
